RENOVATION STORY
HIAWATHA BUSINESS CENTER
MINNEAPOLIS, MN
2009
QUICK FACTS
Address: 3355 & 3401 Hiawatha
Built: Circa 1980's
When Hillcrest purchased 3355 and 3401 Hiawatha in late 2009, the buildings showed their fatigue from six decades of hard use and owner neglect. On the exterior, graffiti and a worn-down façade discouraged renters and customers. Inside, dim lighting, dingy carpeting, and cramped hallways and echoing caverns made an equally poor impression.
Once the spaces were re-sized to better suit modern expectations, Hillcrest focused on revitalizing the buildings with fresh finishes such as carpeting, lighting, paint, and signage.
Today, these two buildings are assets in the South Minneapolis community, housing the offices for home health care providers, a day care, and play therapy experts.
