Solhem Cos. is eyeing a site in Edina’s Pentagon Park area for a 404-unit apartment building.

The Minneapolis developer’s project at 4660 W. 77th St. is scheduled for an early-stage review Wednesday by the Edina Planning Commission.
Plans call for a building of five to six stories. The proposed site is bordered on the north by the former Fred Richards Golf Course, now a city park. Plans show a potential greenway link between the park and West 77th Street on the southern border of the site.
The site is currently occupied by an office building and surface parking lot. A concept sketch of the apartment building that would replace it shows a U-shaped structure that opens toward the park. Plans also show three levels of parking below the structure, totaling 513 stalls, plus a 20-stall surface parking lot.
Solhem didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
The property is currently owned by Pentagon North LLC, according to Hennepin County property records. The entity shares a Minneapolis address with Hillcrest Development, and in 2012 it spent nearly $2.7 million to acquire the Pentagon Park parcel.
